Monday Night’s Run
0I ran early Sunday and ran again Monday night. The run was cold, but I did not really mind. I picked up some knit gloves. I like knit, (sorry but this is kinda gross), my nose runs when I run. I need some thing to wipe my nose on. I put on my ipod and listened to podrunner and picked a cadence of 155bpm, that was nice. Podrunner is great, it is the same cadence for entire hour. DJ Steve boy, mixes all songs and clips up or down to the same cadence.
I changed my GPS (forerunner 305) to lap by distance instead of location. I set it to 0.25 mile to be counted as a lap. I have used a marker on the track to be the start/end for each lap. The issue for me tonight is in my walk lap, I walk in the second lap counting from the inside. That is a bit longer then inside lap or lap one. So my start and end laps are not by a marker, but my actual distance. After each walk lap, the new lap started earlier by an estimated 10-15 feet. It also when it “beeped”, the night light came on. Which is cool, but I am not sure what I did to have the light come on at each lap.
Here is my motionbased results.
Sunday’s Run
0I wanted to get out and run on Sunday. I missed running on Thursday due to rain. I also took the extra time to rest my body.
I got the QHHS track at 7:30am, it was 30 degrees and the gate was locked. A father and son were there on the bleachers and I asked how to get in, his response was to climb over the gate.
After climbing over the gate and warming up. I did my lubrication-lap. A slower lap of running followed by a walk lap, I started to run. This week’s goal is to run 1-mile lengths. I ran three one-milers with one lap walk between. I felt I could do a two miler, but common sense prevailed. I stayed on plan (see motionbased). The only issue was cramp like conditions in my left shin.
I am planning to run Monday tonight, but I do not know if I am ready for 2 miles. I may elect to use next week plan to run 1.5 miles, but I will see how I feel.
No Softball
0Due to raining in California, (rare I know), softball was cancelled. With the rain, I did not run either. Oh well…
Thanksgiving
0To all I wish everyone a blessed Thanksgiving.
Today, I walked three miles with Teri and my dog chip. I went over to AVC to run, and the gates were locked. They had signs on them, “closed to construction”. I have been told they are demolishing the stadium to build a new one, I am not sure of the timing of it. It may have started.
I drove over to Quartz Hill High School and used there track. It seems to be in a better condition. It looks newer and seems to be more springy.
I ran a new pattern. I ran 400m, walk 400m, then ran 1200m and walk 400m. I repeat the 1200m, 400m pattern four times. Here is my motionbased results of laps.
After the run, I came home and rode 30 minutes on my trainer with the bike. I knew I would eat and drink for our Thanksgiving meeting with family, so I needed to have done some work.
Sunday’s Run
0Teri and I let the house at 7:00am to run at AVC’s track. I wanted to test my ankle (I wrapped it, and had no problems). I started out sore, most likely because I ran Friday and played softball and cycled on Saturday (remember I am middle-aged man).
Once I started, I met up with Jan. He is a real runner and he jogged with me (I ran, he jogged), during my laps schedule. That was very nice. It is nice to talk with someone when running, it tasks the focus off running.
I posted my event on motionbased. Here is a image of the heart rate and speed rates.
Wellness Challenge – 38 miles for the week
0This week I had my 30 year High School reunion and I was unable to do any activity on Saturday my biggest mileage day. I was able to get in 38 miles of walking for the Wellness Challenge during the rest of the week. I did not hike or bike, so this is a lot of miles walking around town. On Thursday alone, I did 10.5 miles (trying to hit my weight target), I am encouraged by reaching my weight target and looking forward to the next. It is only about four pounds away.
First Goal Obtained! – Under 200 lbs!
0My first resolution (goal) was to be under 200lbs. Remember, I started at 230.
Back in late March, I received an email about my upcoming 30 year High School reunion for July. I set a goal (April 2nd) to be under 200lbs for the reunion. As of today, I weigh 199.5lb the actual day of the reunion. I have lost 30lbs or 13.26% in 112 days (16 weeks).
