This is my personal website and blog (Middle-aged Man). As you can tell, the spaces has my name. I have had this domain name for a very long time. It is my little area to experiment with technology. Most of what I use this site for is to try out new web technologies. So forgive me when you see it messy. However, the content is generally about me and my family.
Most (if not all) of my time is devoted to my day job at an aerospace company in the antelope valley, where I am Software Engineer for the Publications department. I love to learn about technology. I have a subscription to www.lynda.com and I read technical books (purchased from www.half.com).
I have learning lately, S1000D, WIKI’s, and XSL or XSLT. I trying to get back into some coding. I have been working with Perl again. For me at work, there are two software engineering, me and Joe. Joe does all the heavy lifting, so these days I code less and I am the one who schedules, reports, mitigate defects, works the documentation and requirements.
When I am at home I am with my family doing something on a computer. My home time is shared with my wife, Teri. We have been married for 22 years. She has blessed me with two daughters, Rachel 17 and Hannah 13. All of us are quite busy with church, home schooling, my schooling and shopping.
I am 49 years old and a bit over weight. In April 2007, I decided to get fit. I started at 230 lbs and since then I have loss over 40 pounds. I blog most of my activity on my blog about this Middle-aged-Man.
My buddy is our dog “Mr. Chip”. He is our black lab. He is about seven years old and is now 95+ pounds, big and likes to run, jump, bark at cats and birds, and is easily excited to see us. He is starting to get a little gray around the mouth and feet. I may need a blog for him, called Middle-aged Dog? What do you think?
