Walking
10K of walking
0Today it is raining in the desert. I feeling a little low, so I stretched and got on the treadmill. I did 6.2 miles in under 90 minutes. I started slow at 3 MPH and finished running (I know I shouldn’t) at 6 MPH. Most of the time it was a power walk at 4.1-4.4 MPH. I was trying to gauge to finish at or under 90 minutes. To make sure I ran the last 1/4 mile, it did not feel bad. To cold down, I walked two minutes at 3 MPH and another two minutes at 2 MPH.
I just placed a heating pad on my right hip, to see if I can keep from getting sore.
Walker Tracker and Pedometers
0One the right side (copy above) of the blog is a new image, when clicked will take you to walkertracker, a new site that works with folks who carry pedometers. So, I joined, (it’s free) and purchased a meter. I purchased, the Walking Advantage by Sportline 360. I like it that it states it will track for seven days, (I fear that I would not reset it each day). As well as, an auto feature that changes stride when running (when I am healed) and walking. You can check out my stats, by clicking on the icon. If you join Walker Tracker, make me a comrade. That way we can spur each other on!
I have been curious of how many steps I do in the course of day, so now I know. Yesterday I choose to walk the treadmill for two miles (at 4.1 mph). But during the course of my regular day I walked 12,741 steps or they calculated it at 6.2 mile.
11th Day of Fitness (walk/ride)
0Today being New’s Year Eve, I did not have the time to focus on activities. So today was a three mile walk with the dog and then later in the evening I got in an half hour ride on the bike trainer. Not much, but I plan to make up for it tomorrow with a mountain bike ride with the high school boys from church.
10th Day of Fitness (walking)
0Because I have running on hold for a few days, I decided to go walking. We returned home from some shopping with the family. I got out walking with my dog Chip. the weather was very cold. The wind is up and it was at sunset. I wrote gloves but no face protection. I walked 4.61 miles in 1:17 hours. Once I got my back to the wind, I did not mind it so much.
