As I mentioned I just started to journal what I eat, so I am less likely to “cheat”. I was disappointed with my weight yesterday, but happy today. I usually, take the weekly reading from the best of either Monday or Tuesday. Today is it Tuesday. I managed to get the scale to 208. That puts me only 1/2 pound off my goal. I will buckle down and lose that 1/2 pound.

Ride 36 miles to Willow’s Springs

Getting back from Kickback (I did no real activities on my get away), it is now time to get back to fitness. I took these five days off to heal, so I hope my “relaxation” is not adding weight. I am a bit nervious to get on the scale, so I did a ride (2 hours 45 minutes) this morning. I rode for 36 miles from the house to Willow’s Spring raceway, (Rosemond and 90th West) and returned. This time I had my hydration pack, (100 ounces) and I emptied it. It was 96 degrees and a 10 mile an hour wind from the West. You can see the activity on my motionbased account.

Kickback 2007

I have been gone since Monday (five days) to attend Kickback which is a get-away for our High School kids at church. It is down time (after a hard school year) to float down the King’s River for a couple of hours. There is worship, teaching, physical games like “Wells Fargo”, “Kan-Kan” and the “great race”. Bike Ride – Saturday

I managed to get out on Saturday for a ride. I wanted it to be over 20 miles. I started a bit late and the wind was up. I do not like riding against the wind, today it was 20-23 miles an hour. Blood Pressure – Thursday

Today is blood pressure day; 127/72 pulse 62. I have observed that my pressure changes by some foods. It is generally 10 points higher after some salt intake. I had two chicken sandwiches from Wendy’s the night before. This sandwiches fit in my calorie limits, but I suspect they were higher in salt, hence the higher reading or some wild fat content. Currently, I am not monitoring fat content, so I do not know. When I have higher salt foods, like chips, my blood pressure is about 10 points higher for one to two days. I have been looking to curve the higher salt foods, so I test better and feel better. Also, less salt equals less water retention and lower weight-ins. Which I like…
