Bike Ride – 20 Miles
Jul 8th
After church I wanted to do some activity so I rode. I decided to ride only 20 miles. I headed out Ave H to 90th. That is 7 miles in head on winds at 20 mph. I dislike head winds so much, but I decide to suck it up. I wanted to increase by overall speed, but that did not happen, oh well. So, it was a workout, but no records were harmed in this activity.
Here is the activity.
First Softball Game
Jul 7th
My first slow pitch softball game was Friday night after spending the entire day at Zuma Beach with our Junior High Schoolers from church. I arrived about 1/2 hour early and met up with the team. I warmed up my arm and swung the bat. They placed me as catcher (I am the second oldest [48] on the team, the pitcher is the oldest [52]). I batted fifth and my first at bat I got a hit and drove in two runs. I ended up the night batting for 3

Being July 4th, I wanted to get out early on a ride. I used http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/
Weight – 10% off (23 pounds!)
Jul 3rd
I did not meet my goal for weight loss this week. I wanted to be 205.5, but I am at 207 or a 1.5 pounds off goal. I did lose a pound, but I am tracking at two pounds a week. I ate well and did lots of fitness. I notice that I look slimmer, so the weight may be more water than fat. I am still recovering from the 13 mile hike. My knees and hips are still sore.
Hike – South Fork Camp (Manzanita Trail to Vincent Gap – Baden Powell
Jun 30th
Today’s hike was the hardest to date. I was blessed to not have to do it alone. I mentioned at our Care Group at church that I was hiking, two lovely young ladies (in their 20′s) said they loved to hike, so we got a group together. The group was large, so I did not bring my dog, but the group was made up of Lea, her brother Lane, his friend Matt, and Jill from church. This was a hot day to walk, but the GPS stated we did 13 miles (motionbased stated higher). We left a car for the ride home at Vincent Gap, and started the hike at South Fork Camp on the Manzanita Trail. The first leg was 5.5 miles. The trail stopped at Vincent Gap and we continued the normal 4 mile hike up Baden-Powell and the 4 miles down. It was a hard climb my hips were hurting, they did not want to lift up my leg, and the heat was real factor. Total altitude gain was just under a mile for the hike.
