Wellness Challenge
0At work there is a friendly challenge between two of our programs. The Wellness Challenge continues for the next 10 weeks.
Hike – Mt Antonio (Baldy)
0I set out to Hike Mt Antonio on Saturday. I had to drive down the 14 freeway to the 210 freeway and exit in Upland. This makes for a long day. I did this hike on my own, but there were hundreds of people on the trail. It was a warm day (90 degrees) but breezy. The trail was up and back was a little over nine
Weight
0This week I lost a little (one pound). I am leveling out from two pounds to one pound a week. I am still doing most of my fitness, but not as much walking as in the past. It just seems that I am getting busy and finding time to walk is a bit harder. This week, I added a trendline (in white) and adjusted the lost to one pound a week instead of two after I reach 200 pounds. My goal is to be at two pounds by the end of July.
Blood Pressure – Thursday (one day early)
0I have to travel tomorrow, so I posted my blood pressure one day early. I was so close to meeting on of my resolutions. The one with my pressure to lower than 120/80 and pulse < 50. I measured at 122/78 pulse at 48 again. Two out of three, dang. If that 122 was only 120, bang I would have meet that goal. BTW, this is the retest number. The first had a little higher numbers.
Give Blood
0It has been almost 10 years since I gave blood. At work the Blood-Mobile arrives four times a year. I just decided to donate today. Some years ago, I had elevated liver enzymes and the Red Cross told me- thank you, but no thank you. Later, they recanted and sent me a letter stating they had better testing and I was free to give once again. I blew that off. Well, I decided it is time again. First of all, I am scared of needles and I know I may have to spend some time in the hospital in the future as I get older. Older
Bike Ride – 20 Miles
0After church I wanted to do some activity so I rode. I decided to ride only 20 miles. I headed out Ave H to 90th. That is 7 miles in head on winds at 20 mph. I dislike head winds so much, but I decide to suck it up. I wanted to increase by overall speed, but that did not happen, oh well. So, it was a workout, but no records were harmed in this activity.
